Join The Redbirds Report on the UCB Radio Hour at 9:30pm CDT tonight.  Just follow this link and listen live.  I will be joining Bill Ivie and we will spotlight the current Cards/Cubs series, and look ahead to this weekends big showdown in Cincinnati against the Reds.

Here's the rundown for tonight's show
9:30-9:45pm  Bill and Mike will open the show giving a quick breakdown of recent events and either a game recap or updates on the game progress
9:45-10:10pm  Bill and Mike will be joined by Ryan Maloney of Prose and Ivy to discuss the series with the Cubs and what the Cubs fans feel about the remainder of 2011.
10:10-10:25pm  Bill and Mike will welcome Dave Mitchell from Battle Of Ohio Baseball to discuss the upcoming series with the Cincinnati Reds.
10:25-10:30pm  We put the wraps on another show.

Interesting topics about the Cardinals and a couple of NL Central division rivals.  It should be enlightening and enjoyable.  If you can't listen live, you can download it from iTunes, or listen on Blog Talk Radio.

United Cardinal Bloggers Weekend Dinner at Pujols 5

I was unable to attend the main festivities Sunday at Busch III, and that's a real shame since that was THE game of the weekend to be at (Redbirds won due to blogger power?!).  But I was able to attend the United Cardinal Bloggers network meet & greet event at Pujols 5 in Westport on Saturday Night.

It was a great turn out.  So great in fact, that we were shoehorned into a much smaller room than local fire codes probably dictate.

While the quarters were cramped, the company was first rate.  And the general consensus around my table was that the food was delectable.

I shared a table for dinner with twitter friend @kismatt, and the conversation was as good as the food.  Also at the table was my poor mother who I dragged along to be my designated driver.  She assured me she enjoyed herself - belying the stereotype that bloggers are over-opinionated, self-serving jerks (I, of course, being the exception that proves the rule).

So many of us at the UCB dinner rued the fact when did not get the opportunity to chat with our fellow UCB members and twitter friends.  But we all agreed that the opportunity to match a face to the author, and simply shake a fellow writers hand was a treat.

Here's a couple of photos of the crowd.  Please excuse the quality - I'm just not a big enough jerk to push fine folks out of the way to snap a shot with my iPhone.  If you are curious who each person in the photos are, check out their work.  The link to the websites of the attendees are listed in the blogroll in the sidebar on the right.  Good people, great bloggers, and the best St. Louis Cardinals fans.

UCB Weekend

The Redbirds Report is very excited to get a chance to meet and greet other fabulous St. Louis Cardinals fans, as well as the great writers in the United Cardinal Bloggers network for UCB Weekend.

We will be meeting for dinner at Pujols5 in Westport.  This Tucson AZ resident just happens to be in Southern Illinois visiting my mother, and can't let a fabulous social opportunity like this to pass by.

It should be a great time, and would be over the top with a win today by our favorite MLB team.

I'll be dressed in red.  I should stand out in this crowd.

Twitter is a great way to share your excitement.  Follow me @stimpy66, and the hashtag #stlcards.
